PPS Update

Oscar is doing well, improving daily (thanks to the kindness and generosity of his well-wishers) and playing happily! His skin still needs to improve somewhat but it’s certainly much better.

The poor sad Weimaraner – the owners don’t want to part with her, however following on from talks Andy has had with the lady of the house, they are taking better care of her. They have made their yard escape proof so she is no longer wandering the streets and they are feeding her…..and Andy is giving her an extra can of meat everyday just in case! She is also on a course of antibiotics which Andy is giving daily himself. While the situation is still not ideal, this young dog has gained a little weight and for now seems to be being taken better care of. We will continue to monitor the situation and build good relations with the owners.

Simon has had his first session of chemo. We’d like to say he’s doing really well, but sadly right now he isn’t. Poor baby!

Today we went to the government pound to pick up the big pitbull mix. It turns out he was a dog who had escaped and he has happily been reunited with his owners who had been searching for him! Great result!
There were more dogs today that had been caught by the government dog catcher. As we were no longer taking the big dog, we decided that today was 2 for 1 day and so later this week we will be returning for two young daschund mixes. They are both male so the pound vet is going to neuter them first. I will post photos when they arrive.

Recent adoptions: Elliot, Canela, Sassy, Dinah, Scratchy, Sean, Shakira, Wilma, Adelaide, all 5 Ewok puppies (Biscuit’s pups) and Russo (cat).
Here is Russo (now Tito) with one of his new owners.

Latest additions: Mila, Bonnie, Poco Loco, Knuckles (cat) and today’s rescue, 3 month old Tabasco, who looks remarkably like a young Spud! Tabasco is very thin and has some sores on his skin. He will now be quarantined for the next 3 weeks, so let’s hope he proves to be disease free.

We are thrilled to still be at #1 Internationally and now at #7 Overall in the Animal Rescue Site Shelter Challenge. There are 13,316 eligible shelters in the challenge, so we are overawed by how many votes we are getting. However, we still need MORE! Please remember to vote everyday and encourage your friends and family to do likewise. It only takes a few seconds, but those few seconds could make such a difference for Peanut Pet Shelter and its animals. http://peanutpetshelter.org/ShelterChallenge.html

Wow! Lots of great news!!! So happy to see all the adoptions! My friend, Becky, who came to the shelter with us in November fell in love with Sassy and came very close to adopting her. She will be glad to hear she’s been adopted!

Fantastic news!! I’m so happy about all of the adoptions, and very happy the owners found their lost pit.
